Helicopter Crash Claims Lives in Alaska, Including Czech Billionaire

On March 27th, 2021, an Airbus AS350B3 helicopter crashed near the Knik Glacier in Palmer, Alaska, resulting in a tragic loss of life. Among the five occupants who perished in the accident was Czech billionaire entrepreneur Petr Kellner.

Delayed Reporting and Limited Communication

Initially, the helicopter had been unaccounted for approximately two hours before it was reported overdue. The limited communication capabilities of the tracking system hindered timely reporting of the incident.

NTSB Preliminary Report Released

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued a preliminary report on the crash. According to the report, the helicopter narrowly missed clearing a mountain ridge that towered over a mile high.
