James Hat-trick Extends Chelsea's Super League Lead

Lauren James' stunning hat-trick propelled Chelsea to a 4-0 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, extending the Blues' lead atop the Women's Super League to six points.
The English forward netted her first goal in the 20th minute, pouncing on a loose ball in the box after Liverpool goalkeeper Megan Campbell fumbled a cross. James doubled her tally just before the hour mark, finishing a brilliant team move with a composed side-footed volley. She completed her hat-trick in the 80th minute with a cool dink over Campbell from the edge of the area.
Chelsea's fourth goal came in the 89th minute, as Sam Kerr headed home a cross from Guro Reiten. The win was Chelsea's fifth in a row in the WSL, and it moved them six points clear of Manchester United, who beat Arsenal 3-1 earlier in the day.
Liverpool, meanwhile, remain in fifth place with just two wins from their opening seven matches.
