USMNT Opens Copa America with Win over Bolivia

Balogun, Pulisic Goals Secure Victory

ARLINGTON, Texas — The United States men's national soccer team opened its 2024 Copa América campaign with a 2-0 victory over Bolivia on Friday night at AT&T Stadium.

Folarin Balogun gave the USMNT an early lead in the third minute, heading home a cross from Sergiño Dest. Christian Pulisic doubled the advantage in the 25th minute, finishing off a nice passing sequence involving Weston McKennie and Brenden Aaronson.

Bolivia had a few chances to get back into the game, but Matt Turner made some big saves to keep the clean sheet. The USMNT also hit the woodwork twice, with shots from Pulisic and Aaronson.

The win is a positive start for the USMNT, which is looking to make a deep run in the tournament. The team will face Argentina and Chile in its next two group matches.

In the end, not a bad crowd at all appears to be about the same size as Fridays.
