Samsung Unpacked: Galaxy Z Fold 6 debuts with minor hardware changes

New Galaxy Z Fold 6 unveiled with incremental upgrades

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 6 at its Unpacked 2024 event. The latest iteration of Samsung's popular foldable smartphone features a similar design and hardware specifications to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 5. While there are no major changes to the overall form factor or display technology, Samsung has made some minor enhancements to the hinge and durability of the device.

Incremental hardware upgrades

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 sports a 6.2-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal display, both of which use Samsung's Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology. The main camera system remains unchanged, with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor. The front-facing camera has been upgraded to a 10-megapixel sensor.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The battery capacity has been increased slightly to 4,400mAh, and the device supports 25W fast charging.
